Electrical installations for new builds and construction projects

Established since 2013, ARM Electrix undertakes electrical work for new-build homes, developments, extensions and commercial construction projects. We work with builders, developers and their project teams from the agreed electrical scope through installation, testing and handover.

New-build properties and developments

Share the project location, property type, available plans and current stage. Identify who is responsible for design information and which equipment or specialist systems are supplied by others. The package should make responsibilities clear before first fix begins.

Working with building contractors

For a new house, residential development or extension, share the drawings, proposed equipment and construction programme. ARM Electrix can discuss how the electrical installation fits the building stages and the responsibilities of other trades.

Extensions and refurbishment projects

Changes to an existing building need to be considered alongside the retained electrical installation. For a kitchen or family-room extension, coordinate layouts, equipment information and lighting requirements with the building work. See domestic rewires and extensions.

Programme and coordination

Discuss access, first and second fix stages, deliveries and dependencies on other trades. Changes to drawings, room layouts or equipment should be agreed before the affected work proceeds. Temporary supplies or specialist commissioning must be expressly included if required.

Testing and handover

Confirm the completion information required for the agreed installation, who will receive it and the format needed for the project. Do not leave the documentation brief until the final handover.

Current projects

A large new-build property is currently an ongoing project. See the house and garage first-fix project, clearly labelled Work in progress.

Send your project brief

Introduce the project through the contact page, including the location, scope and preferred programme. Mention available drawings so a suitable sharing method can be agreed. Explore commercial and industrial work where relevant.

Information for builders and developers

Send the proposed site location, plans, property type, construction stage and intended handover sequence. Identify any equipment or specialist systems supplied by other trades, plus the person responsible for design information. The electrical package can then be discussed alongside the building programme rather than assumed from a generic specification.

Can electrical work be coordinated with an extension?

Yes. For an extension, the new circuits and the retained installation both need consideration. Homeowners can also read our rewire planning guide if the project affects existing rooms.

View an ongoing new-build project for genuine construction-stage photographs. The project is presented as work in progress. Send the drawings and build programme to discuss an electrical scope in Bedford, Milton Keynes or another area we serve.
